Desert-Photo > U.S. Capitol from across the reflecting pool. The Sculpture in the center is the Grant Memorial which shows him posed upon his favorite horse Cincinnatus. The sculpture to the left is the Cavalry Charge Group and the Artillery Group to the right. All three sculptures were created by Henry Merwin Shrady. It took him twenty years to complete and he died two weeks prior to its offical dedication in 1922.
